Prayer Phone

“HELLO?” That’s what we say, when we answer the phone. We use the phone whenever we want to be connected with our loved ones, when they are far away from us. It is a great way to chit chat with them.

But, what do we do, if we want to be connected with God? You see, God has given us a phone as well, so we can talk with Him. That phone is called “Prayer Phone.” Through prayer, we can talk to God about anything, because He loves to listen to us. Also, through prayer, we can even ask God for help for anything, because He loves to help us.  So, when was the last time, you have connected with God? It’s time to pick up the Prayer Phone!

“Pray without stopping” (1 Thessalonians 5:17).

“Duck for President!”

Have you ever heard of a story “Duck for President!” Here, you can watch it:

What a funny story? You see, the duck thought only if he would become the leader of the farm, he would be happy. But, he wasn’t happy. So, he became the governor, because he thought that would make him happy. But, he wasn’t happy. So, he became the president, because he thought that would make him happy. But, in the end, the duck wasn’t happy at all.

You see, sometimes in our lives, we think, “Oh, only if I go to the next grade, only if I have more games, oh only if I have more clothes, then I will be really happy!” But, do you realize nothing in this world can make us truly happy? Because God says our hearts were made to be happy, only when God is in our hearts. So, next time, you think “Oh, this or that will make me happy,” remember only God can make your heart happy for eternity!

“Be happy in God always. I will say it again: Be happy!” (Philippians 4:4, Paraphrase).

Short Pencil

Have you ever seen a short pencil? What can a short pencil do? They are so short! But, do you actually realize when even this short pencil is picked up and used by a great writer, it can write great stories? Or, if the short pencil is picked up and used by a great artist, then it can make a great drawing! All the pencil has to do is let the writer or artist use it!

Have you ever thought, “Man, I am too short! I am not smart! So, I am useless for anything?” Although you may have thought like that, God thinks differently. Because just as a short pencil can be used to write great stories and make great drawings, God too can use you to do great things! All you have to do is just tell God: “Here I am, please use me!”

“Yield yourself to God as tools for righteousness” (Romans 6:13, Paraphrase).

Lion and the Mouse

Do you remember the story of the mouse and the lion? In case you need some review, here I have attached the video.

In this story, when the mouse told the lion, “I will save you someday,” the lion did not believe, thinking small mouse is of no use. Yet, the day really came when the lion needed a desperate help from the mouse! Later, the lion realized even the mouse can be a great help!

Sometimes we say things like, “Man, that person is so weak, I wonder if he will be helpful at all!” But, do you realize God has given all of us different talents? In other words, everyone has something they are good at! One person may be good at one thing, but the other person may be good at other thing. So, in God’s kingdom, everyone is important. Everyone plays an important role. So, next time, you think somebody is not helpful at all, remember the lion. You may need help from that person one day!

“In God’s kingdom He has given different talents to people. But we all need each other”
(1 Corinthians 12:18-19, Summary).

Gas Station

Once in a while, when your parents drive the car, they stop at the gas station to fill up the car with oil. Why? Because no matter how nice, how strong, and how great the car is, it cannot run without an oil recharge!

Do you realize we too need spiritual recharge daily in our lives? Just as a car cannot go without oil recharge, without spiritual recharge, we cannot live for God. In other words, we need to be strengthened daily by God to live our lives for Him. So, how do we gain that spiritual recharge? God has given us the Bible. As we mediate on it, God recharges us, so we can live for Him!

“My soul is tired…strengthen me with your word” (Psalm 119:28, Paraphrase).

Soar!

Have you seen an airplane driving on the streets, roads, and highway? No! We are not supposed to see airplanes on the streets, roads, and highways. Because they are not made for the roads! They were born to fly in the air over the roads.

Do you realize that the Bible says we are born to fly as well? Huh? What does that mean? You may ask? Well, it means that we do not have to live our lives defeated by sins. Because God has defeated sins through Jesus Christ, so if we trust in Him, we can now fly over the power of sins. So, next time, when you are tempted to walk in sins, just remember you are not made for sins! You were born to fly over them! In fact, you were born to SOAR like eagles!

“Those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will SOAR on wings like eagles”
(Isaiah 40:31).

Gravity

Do you know what gravity is? Gravity is hidden power that pulls your body to the ground. So, no matter how high you jump, you will end up standing on the ground, because gravity pulls you down to the ground. You see, gravity is what grounds you to the ground.

This is kind of like what God’s love looks like. God’s love is so strong, that no matter how hard we try to push it back, we just can’t. Just as gravity grounds you to the ground, God’s love grounds you to His heart, so you can’t get out of it. In fact, God's love is stronger than gravity. So, never try to push back God from loving you. Because you just can’t.

“The LORD, the LORD, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding love and faithfulness” (Exodus 34:6, NIV).
