Mirror

Do you know what the mirror is for? We look at the mirror when we sense that our hair is messed up, or we feel like something is on our face. We look at the mirror to fix ourselves and to make sure that we are looking good!~

Do you know what we need to look at to make sure our heart is looking good? Just as the mirror shows what is wrong with our face, God's words reveal what is wrong with our hearts. So, for example, one day while reading the Bible, you may discover that your heart has sin problems. Then, that's when you start asking God to help you have a  good looking heart.

"Test me, LORD, and try me, examine my heart..." (Psalm 26:2, NIV).

Leap of Faith!

Watch this video!

Isn't that dog amazing? The little adorable dog, even though scared to death, took a leap of faith! Flung right into the owner's arm, trusting "My owner is gonna catch me, when  I fall!" What a leap of faith!

Do you realize sometimes God wants us to take a leap of faith as well? For example, God may ask us to do things that we are scared of. But, God speaks to us, "You will be fine. Just trust me that I am gonna catch you when you fall. Jump!" In that moment, what do we do? Don't worry! Take a leap of faith! and... JUMP!

Snow!

Don't you love when it snows? It makes the whole world white! Do you know what makes our dark sins white? In other words, do you know what washes us from our dark sins? The Bible says, Jesus' blood shed on the Cross washes us and makes our dark sins whiter than snow. Did I say "white than snow?" Yes, whiter than snow. Wow, what could be whiter than snow? Only our sins washed by Jesus' blood!

"...Wash me, and I will be whiter than snow" (Psalm 51:7, NIV).

Car!

Which part of the car do you think is the most important? Is it a tire, break, engine, or handle? Do you realize if the car misses just one part of this, it cannot move? For example, a car, with everything but with no tire, cannot move! And, a car, with everything but with no break, cannot stop! And, a car with everything, but with no handle, will end up going to wrong direction. You see, the car needs everything of these to move.

Sometimes in our church, we tend to think that some people are more important than others. For example, we can think that pastors are more important than singers! Or, we may think that teachers are more important than cleaners. But, God says that is not true. God says everyone in the church is equally important! Because everyone in the church is doing something important for God! So, next time, when you are tempted to think, “Oh that person is useless, oh that person is not important,” just remember: we all need each other to build God’s church together!

1 Corinthians 12:1-26.

An Ugly Duckling

Have you ever felt lonely and rejected before? Remember the story of an Ugly Duckling? Here, you can watch below.

Oh, this is really a lovely story. In the earlier part of the story, an ugly duckling was trying to be accepted by ducks, and birds. But, he was rejected by them. And, he became very lonely and started crying. But, later he met swan family. And, they must have told this little duckling, “Why are you crying? You are a beautiful swan!”

Sometimes, in our lives, we may feel lonely and rejected. But, do you realize you never need to feel that way? Because the moment you trust God, you become His beautiful child. In other words, even though you may sometimes feel rejected and lonely, God loves you. You are His BEAUTIFUL child.

“You are…God’s treasured possession” (1 Peter 2:9).

Drive Through

“Please give me a coke, one cheese burger, and two fries! And, Oh, one vanilla milkshake as well please!” These are words that our parents say when they go to drive through restaurants. By the way, when your parents ordered foods through drive though, have you ever wondered to yourself? “Man, I wonder if the people in the kitchen are preparing our meals! Because I cannot see them from here. So, I am not sure if they are working on our meals.” Did you ever think like that before? Probably not. The moment we tell our order, we know for sure that people in the kitchen are diligently preparing our delicious meals!

When you pray before, have you ever wondered to yourself? “Man! I wonder if God in heaven is going to answer my prayers! I do not see Him. So, I am not sure if He is acting to answer my prayers.” But, you know what? You do not need to worry about that. Because the Bible says the moment you start praying, God starts acting. So, never doubt whether God heard your prayer. He heard it, and He is acting on it. You just need to wait.

“The prayer of a righteous person works” (James 5:16, Paraphrase).

Boiling

Have you seen your parents boil water on the gas oven? Do you remember how much time it took for the water in the pen to boil? You see, it takes some amount of time for the water in the pen to be heated before it starts boiling. Meanwhile, we just need to wait patiently.

Sometimes, we may wonder why God is not answering our prayers too quick. We may say, “I have been praying for this for a while, but God doesn't answer! What is wrong?” Well, in those times, we need to remember, just as it takes some time for the water to be heated up and starts boiling, it takes some time before God starts answering our prayers. You can trust that He knows the right time to answer your prayers. So, meanwhile, just wait patiently.

“LORD, I wait for you; you will answer, Lord my God” (Psalm 38:15, NIV).
