The Star

"It is the most wonderful time of the year~" Do you know what Christmas is about? Is it about Santa Clause, gifts, lights, family, or something else? What is it about?

To know what Christmas is really about, you only need to look at the Christmas tree. Any clue? Well, what's on the very top of the tree? Star! Yes, the Christmas is about that star! What about that star? You may ask?

Well, the star on the very top of the tree means that Jesus is the Star that shines as the light of the world. In other words, Jesus is the shining star, the Savior, that saves us from our sins. So, this is what Christians is ALL about. It's about the Star that saves the world from sins! In a word, it's about Savior Jesus Christ!

"Wise men asked: 'Where is the king of the Jews. We saw his star..." 

(Matthew 2:2, Paraphrase).

Astronauts

Do you know why  astronauts wear the space clothes, when they go to the space. Because there is no air in the space. And, that means apart from the the earth, human beings cannot live.

And the Bible says we cannot live apart from God. God created us in a way that apart from Him we cannot really live. So, when we are far from God, it becomes hard for us to live. That's why it's important that we stay close to God's heart. There, we are happy forever and ever!

"...for apart from me you can do nothing" 

(John 15:5, ESV).

Chair

When you sit on a chair (not broken), did you ever wonder? "Mmm.. I am not sure if that chair is gonna hold me. I wonder if it is strong enough to bear my weight." Have you ever thought like that? Probably not. When you sit on a chair (not broken), you just sit on it, without a question of doubt.

This is kind of like what it looks like for us to trust God. When we trust God, we never doubt, "Mmm... I am not sure if God is going to take care of. I am not sure if God is going to love me." We never raise those dobuts. Just as we sit on a chair with no question of doubt, we trust God for everything with no question of doubt as well. Because we can always trust Him.

"Now faith is being sure of what we hope for, being convinced of what we do not see" (Hebrews 11:1).

Unopened Letter

Did you ever receive a letter from your friend? What if you received it and never opened it? Will you then ever know what your friend wanted to say to you? Will you ever know what was in your friend's heart?

Do you realize God also has given us a letter? And, that letter is the Bible! But, if you do not open it up and read it, will you ever know what God wanted to say to us? Will you ever know what was in God's heart? Maybe, it's time for you to open God's letter and start reading His heart for you. It is His Love Letter for you.

"...Meditate on God's law day and night..." (Joshua 1:8, Paraphrase).

Stars

Have you seen moon, and starts at night in the sky? How beautiful they are! But, have you wondered to yourself, why on earth stars and moon are up there in the sky? Well, do you realize they are there to sing? If you can't believe my words, here watch this video here. In this video, the guy brings in the voices of stars together to make a beautiful sound. They are real sounds of stars! Listen carefully!

Ain't that amazing? I mean all of God's natures are singing praises to Him! What about you? Are you praising God today? Will you let stars out-sing you?

Golden Egg

Do you remember the story called "The Goose who laid the golden egg?" Here, you can watch it, if you don't remember:

What a tragic story. Even though the farmer was so much blessed, he lost all of it, because of his greed. Do you realize the Bible warns against us about being greedy? The Bible says that when we become greedy it will make us not love God as much and do wrong stuff. So, we need to make sure that we do not become greedy about anything. And, the Bible says the reason He blesses us is so that we may share blessings with others, not so that we become greedy.

"Greed will make us sin..." (James 1:15, paraphrase).

Washing

"Man, how often do I need to pray and read God's words? They are so boring!" Have you ever said that to yourself? Well, how often do you wash your face and your body? I bet you do it every day, because we get dirty every day. Otherwise, your mom would not be happy with you.

So, just as we wash our face every day, because it gets dirty every day, we too need to wash our thoughts every day. As we live in this world, our thoughts may get dirty by the thoughts that are not pleasing to God. So, we need to wash our thoughts every day. That is why we need to spend time with God's words to make sure that our thoughts are filled with God's thoughts. And, we need to do this every day.

"...Be transformed by the washing of your thought..." (Romans 12:2, Paraphrase).
